Brennand Consulting is a California and Texas-based political consulting firm specializing in strategic communications, grassroots organizing, political and union advocacy, large and small-scale field efforts, and project management. Brennand Consulting was first created in 2020 to provide strategic advice by campaign professionals who will work tirelessly for your cause.
The overriding philosophy is that, when a client can communicate effectively and strategically with the public, elected officials, and their partners, successful campaigns and programs are crafted.

Our Team
Scott Brennand
FounderScott Brennand boasts over fourteen years of experience in political campaigns, ranging from the local to presidential level. His journey started by canvassing for Jerry Brown for Governor and supporting union-backed Propositions 24 and 25.
Following the 2012 election, Scott worked for the CA State Assembly, advising Assemblymembers across the state on outreach strategies. Over the years, he spearheaded two successful State Senate campaigns while providing consulting services to various candidates and organizations, including the Sacramento Central Labor Council, the California Democratic Party, and Tom Steyer’s Presidential campaign.
In 2020, Scott established Brennand Consulting, a firm renowned for its data-driven voter outreach techniques and expertise in advancing progressive policies.
Jorrel Verella
Strategic PartnerJorrel Verella has orchestrated effective political campaigns and initiatives across diverse communities in California. Notably, in 2019, Jorrel took on the role of California Field Director for the Bernie Sanders Presidential campaign, where his leadership facilitated extensive grassroots efforts, resulting in a decisive victory in the 2020 California Presidential Primary.
He launched his political career in 2009, where he started as a field organizer for the California Assembly Democratic Caucus, and transitioning to the State Legislature in 2012, Jorrel served as a Member Consultant in the Speaker’s Office under the leadership of Speakers John Perez, Toni Atkins, and Anthony Rendon. During his tenure as Deputy and Statewide Director for the California Vote Project from 2010 to 2018, Jorrel played a pivotal role in registering over 250,000 Democrats across the state.
Most recently, he served as the Western States Political Director for the Service Employees International Union.
Sergio Blanco
Outreach DirectorSergio Blanco began his career more than 5 years ago after graduating from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Government, beginning with voter registration in Downtown Los Angeles and later moving to a door-to-door independent expenditure in the East Los Angeles area.
He joined Brennand Consulting in 2020 as a phone banker, helping win campaigns such as Stop The Recall of Governor Newsom and aiding SEIU 721 member outreach. As the firm's Field Team Director, he led successful field and phonebank teams throughout California, notably Brian Maienschein’s re-election to the State Assembly in 2022 and an independent expenditure for Robert Garcia’s election to the State Assembly in 2024. In 2025, he led teams aiding SEIU 721 LA County’s contract efforts, Child Care Providers United, and California Gig Workers Union outreach.
As Outreach Director, Sergio is focused on hiring and training talented staff and creating strategic plans to help win campaigns.
Ryan K. Brown
Operations DirectorRyan K. Brown is an organizer and local government enthusiast who currently serves as Operations Director for Brennand Consulting, bringing over ten years of experience managing political campaigns and organizations to the team.
Originally from the Bay Area, Ryan attended Sacramento State, ultimately earning degrees in both Economics and Public Relations. After getting his start with hard-fought local races, he worked in the California State Senate before moving to Sacramento City Hall, where he served as Chief of Staff to Councilmember Caity Maple for three years.
In addition to his work in electoral politics, Ryan has helped to lead the California Young Democrats (CYD) - after completing two terms as President of the Sacramento County chapter, he was elected to the CYD Vice Presidency in 2025 and has focused heavily on building a strong, durable coalition of young leaders across the state.
